After testing the previous curved screen lamp from Quntis a few weeks ago, I honestly thought I had found the ideal model for my setup. And yet… this new foldable version manages to go even further.
On paper, it looks “simply” like a new ScreenBar. In reality, Quntis has added several very clever ideas that truly change everyday use. The lamp remains perfectly suited for curved screens, but its two foldable arms now allow it to light up either a very large screen or even the entire desk. And when you spend your days in front of a PC, or are doing a bit of electronics, or precision DIY, it quickly becomes addictive.

Add to that RGB backlighting, a wireless remote control, and lighting that is still pleasing to the eyes, and you probably have the most versatile screen lamp I have used so far.
Why use a screen lamp instead of a conventional lamp?
Before talking about this new Quntis, we need to revisit the very purpose of ScreenBars. Many people still work with a conventional desk lamp placed next to the screen. The problem is that this type of lighting often creates reflections on the panel, strains the eyes, and sometimes poorly illuminates the workspace.
A screen lamp works differently. It attaches directly above the monitor and projects light only onto the desk, without illuminating the panel. The result: less visual fatigue, fewer reflections, and much better comfort when working long hours in front of a screen.
It is particularly pleasant in the evening when the room is dimly lit. The screen appears less harsh, and the eyes tire much less quickly. After a few days of use, going back to a conventional lamp almost feels like working with a spotlight aimed into your eyes…
Unboxing and presentation of the new foldable Quntis RGB
Quntis retains here the overall design of its previous ScreenBar, with a sober and rather premium black finish. The build quality inspires trust immediately. The materials feel serious, the arm hinges seem sturdy, and the whole setup remains elegant once installed on the screen.

The big novelty immediately stands out: the two foldable side arms. The lamp actually arrives folded, which allows for a more compact packaging box.

When deployed, they significantly widen the lighting area. On a large ultra-wide screen, this is very much appreciated. But more importantly, it becomes possible to direct the light towards the desk itself. And here, we completely change categories.

Personally, this is probably the feature that has won me over the most. When I need to tinker with a connected object, disassemble a device, clean a 3D print, or simply take product photos on the desk, this lamp becomes a real work light. No more need to fetch a second supplementary lamp.

Another nice addition: the RGB backlighting located on top. Clearly, we are in the realm of comfort and ambiance more than utility here. But for a gaming setup or a somewhat modern desk, it provides pleasant indirect light behind the screen.

The included wireless remote control remains a major asset as well. You can easily adjust the color temperature, light intensity, or activate the RGB without touching the lamp. It’s quite trivial… but honestly practical on a daily basis.
Installation: compatible with almost all screens
One of the strong points of this new version is its compatibility.
The previous Quntis tested earlier was already designed for curved screens.
This new model takes the concept even further with a fastening system better suited to different thicknesses and curves.

On my ultra-wide iiyama curved screen, the attachment was done in a matter of seconds. The lamp remains perfectly stable and well-positioned. No annoying reflections on the panel, even with strong brightness.

But what is interesting is that it also works very well on a conventional flat screen. Quntis seems to have aimed to create a universal model capable of fitting both a office setup and a gaming or creative environment.
No software is necessary. Everything is controlled directly from the remote.
User feedback: probably the most practical I have tested
After several days of use, what stands out the most is the comfort.
The lighting is even, powerful without being aggressive and, above all, very flexible. You can switch from a cold light for efficient work during the day to a much more restful warm light in the evening.

The deployed arm mode is really the feature that changes everything. For typing, drawing, DIY, or electronic assembly, the difference is enormous. We finally illuminate the entire work area correctly.

I also appreciated being able to use only one arm as needed. It may seem trivial, but in certain desk configurations, it helps avoid annoying shadows.

The RGB remains discreet but pleasant. The integration is quite successful. The indirect light behind the screen adds a nice immersive touch in the evening. I would have liked compatibility with the gaming PC lighting system to synchronize everything, but since it is not a connected lamp, there’s no possibility in that regard. After all, it’s a bit gimmicky, I must admit ;-)

In terms of visual fatigue, Quntis clearly masters its subject. Even after several hours of writing or photo editing, my eyes remain much less tired than with conventional lighting.
And honestly, that’s also what makes the strength of this type of product: you only really realize the comfort it brings after a few days of use.
Comparison with the previous Quntis ScreenBar Curved
The previous version was already excellent. It performed perfectly for a purely screen-based use.
But this new generation brings several very concrete improvements.

The foldable system completely changes the versatility of the lamp. We are no longer limited to lighting the keyboard: the entire surface of the desk can now be effectively illuminated.
Compatibility also seems to be better with different types of screens.
The RGB backlighting adds a nice aesthetic touch, even if it’s not the main element of the product.
And above all, this new version seems even more practical in daily use. After using both models, this is clearly the one I would keep on my desk.
Conclusion
Quntis achieves a very nice evolution of its ScreenBar here.
The brand retains everything that already made the previous model successful: excellent visual comfort, simple installation, absence of reflections, and very convincing lighting quality. But this time it adds true versatility thanks to the foldable arms capable of illuminating the entire surface of the desk.
For working, playing, writing, DIY, or doing electronics, this lamp quickly becomes essential. And it’s quite rare for a simple desk accessory to change daily comfort so much!
If you are already using a conventional screen lamp, this foldable version brings a real advantage. And if you have never tested this type of lighting, it’s hard to go back after a few days.
