Happy New Year to everyone! And starting tomorrow… immersion at CES live from Las Vegas

Happy New Year to everyone! 🎉

The entire team at Maison & Domotique wishes you a year full of simple little pleasures… and great connected ideas. A year where your home makes life easier instead of complicating your existence, where energy is managed better, where security is more serene, and where home automation remains what it should always be: a tool, not a puzzle.

And let me tell you right away: we are not going to start 2026 on tiptoe. Tomorrow, I’m off to Las Vegas to cover the CES, the grand annual tech event. You get the idea: huge halls, miles of carpet, announcements galore, and innovations that will soon be reaching you… sometimes faster than you think!

CES is a trend accelerator (and a good filter for “buzz”)

Every year, CES shines a big spotlight on what will matter in the connected home: new devices, new protocols, simpler integrations, AI in every form, security, energy, health, mobility… You’ll find very concrete things (products ready to be sold) and much less concrete things (demos that inspire, then disappear into thin air… like a sock in a washing machine, mysteriously).

As usual, our goal is to sort things out for you. Identify what truly deserves your attention. Explain what it changes in real life. And above all, get our hands dirty when possible: compatibilities, usages, limits, and “is it worth it” (the question that saves entire evenings).

Starting Monday: an avalanche of articles… but not just that

During CES, there will be a lot of articles on the site. Important announcements, innovations in home automation, energy, networking, security, and everything related to the smart home. Some content will be published very quickly, sometimes on the same day as the announcements, because news at CES moves at 200 km/h.

But this year, I also want to let you experience the event differently. Not just the “clean” product on a white background, not just the press release. CES is also about the atmosphere, the behind-the-scenes, the encounters, the little hiccups (yes, there are some), the surprises, and those moments when you stumble upon something totally unexpected at a booth (and then you think: “Okay, we need to showcase this!”).

Why you should follow us on social media

The site will remain your main base to calmly find everything, with perspective and clear explanations. But on social media, we can do what the site doesn’t always allow: share live.

You’ll get “live” or almost-live content: short videos on-site, photos, hot takes, quick demos, and behind-the-scenes looks. Typically, this kind of thing helps to understand whether an announcement is a true advancement or just a nice staging (sometimes, the difference is visible in 10 seconds).

And then, between us, you know the universal law of trade shows: it’s often when you expect nothing that you come across a great idea. So why not be right there in the front row!

By the way, feel free to share in the comments which platforms you prefer to follow all this on!

Maison et Domotique, but also our partner sites

In addition to this site, you can also find some of my articles for professionals on the site of the SmartHome electricien+ magazine. And like in previous years, I will cover CES with my friends Hervé from Abavala and Julien from Ca Sert à Quoi, who were also members of the jury for the Innovation Awards alongside me this year! They will also share their personal takes on this unmissable event. So don’t hesitate to follow them!

See you very soon… and thank you again

If Maison & Domotique has been around for so long (18 years this year!), it’s thanks to you: your readings, your feedback, your messages, your questions, your projects. Some want a more comfortable home, others want to reduce bills, others want to secure a property, and there are also enthusiasts who love tinkering and optimizing. All this coexists here, and it’s really pleasant.

So once again: Happy New Year!
And starting tomorrow, off to Las Vegas. Buckle up, it’s going to get exciting! (I promise, we’ll keep our feet on the ground: we’ll show you the best, but we’ll also tell you when it smells like a gadget.)

See you soon on the site… and on our networks to keep up with CES closely. 🚀
