At €78, the Boya Notra Neo aims to democratize AI-assisted note-taking.

The small recorders powered by artificial intelligence are taking a real place in daily life. I have actually tested several of them in recent months, with approaches that are sometimes quite different. Their interest is quickly evident: rather than frantically scribbling during a meeting, a conference, or an interview, one records the conversation and the AI then takes care of transcribing it, summarizing it, and extracting the important information. This allows one to be fully focused on the meeting or the conference. For my part, I can no longer do without them, as they save me time and provide serenity during my interviews and conferences.

The problem is that the most advanced models can quickly exceed a hundred euros. Boya wants to make this technology more accessible with its new Boya Notra Neo, which will be officially launched on September 4th during the IFA 2026 in Berlin.

And there’s a good deal to be had even before its launch: from August 24th to September 3rd, 2026, the Boya Notra Neo is being offered for pre-order at only €78 instead of its official price of €89.

A discount of €10 which places this new AI recorder at a particularly interesting price for discovering this type of device.

An AI recorder designed for everyday uses

The Boya Notra Neo goes beyond a simple digital dictaphone: it captures a conversation and then transforms the recording into truly usable information.

It can be used during a professional meeting, a class, a training session, an interview, or simply when an idea deserves to be kept. But Boya has mainly worked on the versatility of recording sources.

The Notra Neo indeed offers three recording modes: ambient conversations, phone calls, and Bluetooth communications. The system is capable of detecting the usage scenario and automatically switching to the appropriate mode.

Concretely, you can place the small device on a table to record a meeting, use it to keep a phone call, or even capture a conversation conducted via a Bluetooth device. This last possibility is particularly interesting with the proliferation of video conferences, distance courses, and online meetings.

In ambient recording, Boya claims a capture at 360° up to 5 meters. A range suitable for a meeting room, a classroom, or an interview with several people.

A transcription in more than 140 languages

It is after the recording that artificial intelligence comes into play.

The Boya Notra Neo is capable of generating a transcription in more than 140 languages and dialects, with identification of different speakers. A feature that can save considerable time when it comes to processing a one-hour meeting or a long interview.

But the raw transcription is just the first step.

The artificial intelligence can also generate summaries, task lists, mind maps, and analyses from recorded conversations. Boya also announces more than 60 professional templates to adapt the processing of information to the context.

Let’s take a one-hour work meeting. Instead of re-listening to the entire recording, the system can provide a summary of the exchanges and highlight the different actions to be taken. For a student, the same principle allows transforming a class into structured notes and a mind map to facilitate revisions.

This is where these small AI recorders really shine: the goal is no longer just to keep audio, but to extract directly usable information from it.

AI can even find information in your recordings

Another interesting feature: AI Search.

The principle is similar to a search one would perform with a conventional AI assistant. Rather than opening multiple transcriptions and searching manually for information, it becomes possible to query the AI about the content of the recordings.

Are you looking for the date mentioned by a speaker during a meeting? A decision made during a conference? A specific piece of information mentioned in the middle of a long interview? The AI can search for the information within the available recordings.

A function that makes sense as soon as one starts accumulating several dozen hours of meetings or conferences.

The recordings and the generated content can then be accessed and managed via the Boya OS App and Web. Several export formats are planned to retrieve audio files, transcriptions, summaries, or mind maps, and continue working with your usual tools.

20 hours of recording and 8 GB of storage

The positioning of the Notra Neo is deliberately different from that of the previously launched Boya Notra.

The Notra remains the high-end model of the family, sold for €134, featuring 64 GB of storage, up to 24 hours of battery life, and a capture range of up to 10 meters.

The Boya Notra Neo focuses more on the essentials with 8 GB of storage, an announced range of 5 meters, and up to 20 hours of continuous recording.

On paper, this is more than enough to cover a full day of classes, conferences, or meetings. The essential AI functions are retained, including transcriptions, summaries, task lists, mind maps, and search functions.

This is the interesting aspect of this Neo version: Boya has mainly reduced certain hardware characteristics to lower the price, rather than sacrificing the functions that make an AI recorder appealing.

A pre-order offer at €78 until September 3rd

The Boya Notra Neo will be officially launched on September 4th, 2026, during the IFA in Berlin, where it will be showcased at the brand’s booth (Hall 20, Stand 132).

Its announced retail price is €89.

But Boya is opening pre-orders starting August 24th, with a launch offer at €78 valid until September 3rd, 2026. It is therefore possible to save €10 by ordering the device before its official launch.

You can find all the information regarding the manufacturer on the official Boya website, and take advantage of the pre-order offer directly on the Boya Notra Neo online store.

At this price point, the positioning is rather clever. The Notra Neo clearly targets those who are intrigued by AI recorders, but who are still hesitant to invest €150 or more in such a device.

Students, salespeople, journalists, content creators, or professionals spending their days between meetings and calls can find an interesting tool to avoid losing important information.

And for my part, the real-life test should come very soon: I plan to take the Boya Notra Neo to the IFA in Berlin, where conferences, meetings with manufacturers, and technical discussions should provide it with a particularly suitable playground. This will allow me to see if the promise holds up before offering you a complete test a few weeks later!
