Shelly is a now well-known manufacturer of home automation devices. We have already had the opportunity to talk about this Bulgarian manufacturer several times, the modules offered being really qualitative and very practical. Already present at IFA last September, Shelly was this time at CES in Las Vegas to unveil several very interesting new features.

More memory, more power

The first new feature is its new 3rd generation chip. Equipped with 8 MB of memory, it significantly improves the performance and efficiency of the devices that use it. This significant increase in memory not only ensures smoother and faster operation, but also allows the Gen3 series to introduce new features.

Unified control with virtual components

The Gen3 series introduces “virtual components” that transform the way users manage and control third-party devices. In the Shelly Smart Control application, users can now create virtual devices, integrating non-Shelly products into a unified control system. This feature allows for streamlined control of all users’ smart devices, regardless of brand, from a single interface.

On the Road to Matter

While Shelly has shown no interest in Matter so far, he hasn’t lost interest in it! Every Gen3 device is designed to be upgraded to Matter, the universal home automation standard that promises reliable and secure connectivity. With double the memory, all Gen3 devices ensure a smooth upgrade process, while paving the way for new smart capabilities and integrations.

With a focus on improving the user experience, Shelly has listened to the needs and feedback of its growing community of users. Through its dedication to innovation, the company is taking another important step to revolutionize the way users live and work, creating a space where convenience, security, and energy efficiency go hand in hand.

We are excited to introduce our next generation products at CES 2024. With increased memory capacity and enhanced capabilities, users can experience enhanced product features and reliability across our devices. These new products mark an important milestone for us as we continue to deliver industry-leading solutions that enable our users to create truly smart homes and businesses.

More than 10 new products at CES 2024

At CES 2024, Shelly presented more than 10 products, some with the Z-wave wireless communication protocol, to meet the growing needs of its American customers.

Shelly Qubino Wave Plug US is the Z-wave product that will arrive on the American market after CES to meet the needs of local users. Shelly Qubino is the line of innovative microprocessor-managed devices that allow remote control of electrical appliances with a smartphone, tablet, PC or home automation system. They operate on the Z-Wave wireless communication protocol, using a gateway. With Shelly Qubino Wave Plug, American users can control a wide range of home appliances and office equipment (lights, power lines, security systems, heating radiators, air conditioners, etc.) from anywhere with even greater use.

Another highlight is the Shelly H&T Gen3, the next-generation Wi-Fi smart temperature and humidity sensor that accurately measures temperature and humidity, two essential elements for a healthy home environment. It features a graphical e-ink display, for seamless climate control in your living space. It is of course powered by the new Shelly chip, with 8MB of memory.

Another highly anticipated product series is the Shelly Mini Gen3 series. Designed with convenience in mind, these mini relays have all the capabilities of the Gen3 devices, but in a space-saving form factor. At 35% smaller than the Shelly Plus devices (e.g. Shelly Plus 1 Mini), the products are ideal for tight spaces where traditional relays simply cannot fit.

Despite their small size, the Shelly Mini Gen3 devices do not compromise on performance or functionality. Among the smallest relays in the world, these Gen3 devices allow users to automate their lights, garage door, irrigation system or other small electrical devices in less than 10 minutes and control them from anywhere. Small enough to fit behind any wall switch or power outlet, these Shelly Mini Gen3 devices are retrofittable and highly compatible with many existing smart ecosystems.

We will talk more about it very soon, as we already have a few modules for testing ;-)

We are confident in achieving our targets, not only in terms of annual revenues, but also in terms of the number of products we have delivered. Our growth is faster than the market, which puts us in a position where we can offer our customers and partners the best solutions for their needs thanks to our short time-to-market. In 2023, we have achieved our mid-term targets of a turnover of over €200 million and we are well positioned to reach an EBIT of over €50 million by the end of 2026.
