Laifen is a brand that I discovered at an IFA show in Berlin, and I have appreciated it greatly since, for the originality and design of its products. After a connected toothbrush that had already made a name for itself with its design and performance, the brand returns with an electric razor… and you immediately recognize the style. I have been testing it for several months nearly daily, and it has accompanied me to Las Vegas, Rome, and many other business trips. For once, it is not a “connected” device. Unboxing the Laifen T1 Pro

Upon opening the box, one finds carefully crafted packaging, true to the brand’s image. Nothing excessive, but everything is well presented.

The razor itself immediately catches the eye. Compact, dense, with a real sense of quality in hand. Fully made of aluminum alloy, it is far from the lightweight plastics of some classic models.

The T1 Pro rests on a single blade system, with a fine shaving grille. An interesting choice that contrasts with the usual rotary or multi-blade razors.

The head is interchangeable with a trimmer, which can also receive one of the 3 cutting guides (5mm/3mm/2mm).

The whole is magnetic and changes in 2 seconds.

Under the hood, there is a linear motor capable of reaching 12,000 movements per minute. On paper, this promises a quick and precise shave.

Handling and Using the Laifen T1 Pro

From the first uses, what strikes you is the simplicity.

One button, no menus, no complicated settings. You turn it on, and it works. Pressing and holding turns the razor into airplane mode (completely off).

The motor is powerful, but above all very well controlled. The razor does not give that unpleasant vibration feeling that some models can have. On the contrary, it is rather soft, almost muffled.

The compact format allows for good control of movements, especially in delicate areas like the neck or under the nose. And that’s where the T1 Pro shines.

The head follows the contours of the face well, even if we are not dealing with an ultra-flexible system like some high-end razors. But honestly, in the majority of cases, it’s more than sufficient.

Daily Shaving: Effective, but with Some Nuances

In real use, the Laifen T1 Pro proves convincing.

On a short beard (1 to 2 days), the shave is quick, clean, and without particular irritation. The blade grips the hair well, and the motor does the job without straining.

On a slightly longer beard, you sometimes have to go over it twice, especially in denser areas. Nothing prohibitive, but you can feel that this razor is clearly optimized for daily use rather than catching up on several days’ growth. For that, the trimmer head will be more appropriate for thinning. This is especially how I use it since I always maintain a 1 to 2-day beard. I therefore use the Laifen T1 Pro with one of the included combs to maintain that look. And the shaving head just for the few stray hairs on the cheeks.

In terms of comfort, good surprise. The skin is respected, even on sensitive areas. And that is often where compact razors fall short.

Another appreciated point: the noise level. The T1 Pro remains discreet, which is always pleasant in the morning (especially when the whole house is still asleep…).

Battery Life and Maintenance

With 120 minutes of battery life, we are in the good average. A charge allows for several days of use without issue, making it a good travel companion. And in case of a dead battery, just one minute of charging gives 8 minutes of use, which can quickly save you when you’re late in the morning.

The USB-C charging is a real plus. One cable for the smartphone, headphones, and razor… it’s the kind of detail that really simplifies everyday life.

For maintenance, nothing complicated. The head cleans easily under water (IPX7). Magnetic, it removes very easily. No tools or complicated manipulations required.

What I Think After Several Months

The Laifen T1 Pro does not try to do everything. And that’s probably what makes it strong.

It does not necessarily replace a high-end ultra-complete razor with all possible options. But for a daily, quick, and comfortable shave, it checks many boxes, especially with its two removable heads and the provided guides.

Its design makes you want to use it, its grip is pleasant, and its performance is up to par in its primary use.

It’s typically the kind of product that you adopt without thinking… and that you would find it hard to replace afterwards. For my part, it is adopted, and accompanies me everywhere.
