This smart irrigation system adapts water according to the weather and promises 40% savings

Watering the garden is often a headache. Between inaccurate timers, expensive underground irrigation systems, and unpredictable weather, it’s difficult to maintain a healthy lawn while avoiding water waste. Last year, we tested the Aiper IrriSense, an intelligent watering solution that stands out for its ease of installation and connected approach.

For 2026, the brand unveils its successor: the Aiper IrriSense 2. This new generation promises even more precise watering, enhanced multi-zone management, and most importantly, better water consumption optimization. The manufacturer even claims up to 40% savings compared to a traditional watering system.

Designed as an all-in-one system that is easy to install and controllable from a smartphone, IrriSense 2 aims to transform garden watering into a completely automated and intelligent process.

An intelligent irrigation system designed for modern gardens

With IrriSense 2, Aiper clearly seeks to simplify domestic irrigation. Unlike traditional installations that often require significant work – trenches, buried pipes, solenoid valves, and separate timers – this new system offers a complete, ready-to-use solution.

The principle is based on a 4-in-1 device that combines several normally separate elements into a single unit: the watering timer, rotary sprinklers, the solenoid valve, and even a nutrient dispenser to enrich the soil. This approach significantly reduces installation complexity while maintaining precise irrigation control.

One of the system’s great strengths is its multi-zone management. IrriSense 2 can control up to ten distinct watering zones. Each zone can be set independently according to the needs of the plants, the type of soil, or sunlight exposure. A lawn, a vegetable garden, or a flower bed indeed have different water needs.

To ensure uniform distribution, the system relies on EvenRain technology. This technology distributes water regularly to replicate natural rainfall. The goal is twofold: to avoid areas that are over-watered or conversely too dry, and to minimize runoff. The system can cover an area of up to approximately 445 m², which already corresponds to a respectable-sized garden.

Water pressure is also optimized to ensure stable and constant distribution. The manufacturer indicates that the system is TÜV certified, ensuring reliable operation and good control of water flow.

Intelligent watering management thanks to the weather

Where IrriSense 2 truly stands out is in its ability to adapt watering to weather conditions.

The system integrates Weather-Sense technology, which analyzes weather data to automatically adjust irrigation. If rain is forecasted, watering can be postponed. Conversely, during periods of intense heat or drought, watering can be increased only in the areas that need it.

An integrated rain sensor also allows for immediate reaction to unforeseen precipitation. As soon as it detects water, watering is automatically suspended. This dynamic management helps avoid unnecessary watering and contributes to reducing water consumption.

According to Aiper, this intelligent approach can allow for up to 40% water savings compared to a traditionally fixed programmed system. In a context where water management is becoming a major issue, this type of solution obviously makes perfect sense.

A simplified installation and complete control from the app

One of the strong points already noted during our test of the first generation was the ease of installation. In this regard, the new version continues in the same direction.

IrriSense 2 has been designed to be installed without tools, without wiring and without construction. The modules simply fit together and then connect to the home Wi-Fi network. The entire system can be operational in just about fifteen minutes.

Once installed, everything is controlled from the Aiper mobile app. This app allows you to map the garden and precisely define the watering zones. The user can then configure different parameters for each zone: watering frequency, irrigation depth, time slots, or duration.

The app also offers real-time irrigation tracking. It is possible to check the status of each zone, modify the parameters remotely, or manually trigger watering if necessary. Of course, the system can operate completely autonomously once the parameters are set.

This connected operation also allows for managing watering even when you are away. On vacation or traveling, you just need to open the app to adjust the parameters if needed.

A logical evolution after an already convincing first model

When we tested the first version on Maison et Domotique, the IrriSense already impressed us. The product stood out for its ease of installation and its ability to automate watering without requiring a complex installation.

This new generation clearly goes further. The more advanced multi-zone management, improved weather optimization, and enhanced water distribution make the system even more relevant for modern gardens.

Aiper has also worked on the product’s durability. The housing features UV protection to withstand prolonged sun exposure. The system also incorporates antifreeze drainage and corrosion-resistant copper fittings. The noise level remains discreet, below 60 dB, allowing for use without noise pollution.

This sustainable approach has indeed been recognized with the SEAL Awards, which highlight products that have a positive environmental impact. The jury particularly praised the system’s ability to reduce water waste through intelligent irrigation management.

Price and availability

The Aiper IrriSense 2 has been available since March 1, 2026 at a retail price of €499.99.

The system can be ordered from the official Aiper store as well as from Amazon. It should also soon arrive at various specialized retail networks for pool and garden equipment, particularly at Irripiscine and Desjoyaux.

With this new version, Aiper confirms its desire to extend its expertise beyond pool robots to offer a complete ecosystem of intelligent equipment dedicated to gardening. And given the promises of IrriSense 2, automatic watering could well become as simple and intelligent as robotic lawn mowers or the home automation systems we already use in the house.
