Solar power has never been more fashionable than in recent months, thanks to the rising price of electricity. We've seen this, of course, with the numerous solar stations launched on the market over the past two years, producing free electricity. But solar power also creates heat. In this field, Solar Brother has become an expert over the past several years, particularly in the creation of solar ovens. But their latest innovation, SunAéro, might interest you even more, since it's a home heating system! Cooking in the sun, quite an art! SunAéro: and heating becomes free! Solar Brother has been using the sun for over 20 years to create heat, whether through a solar oven, a solar dryer, or even a solar lighter! It's safe to say that the French company has become an expert in this field. What if this free heat were used to heat your home? This is what Solar Brother has developed with its new SunAéro system. SunAéro is a panel made up of two main parts: an aerothermal panel that heats the air, and the “pilot,” consisting of a 32W photovoltaic panel that powers a smart turbine system to inject the hot air into the home. The principle is relatively simple: the system, mounted on the wall or roof of the house, exposed to the sun, of course, so ideally facing south, draws in air, heats it, and injects it into the house. This air, which can be between 20 and 40°C, heats the house, thus reducing the use of the existing heating system. SunAéro doesn't replace the existing heating system, as there are unfortunately days without sun. But it cleverly complements it by combining several possible energy sources. The end result is savings estimated at up to 35% on the energy bill. The return on investment is estimated at only 5 years (and the product is guaranteed for 25 years). Magic! Yes, and no, because the system itself isn't entirely new. Systovi, a French manufacturer of photovoltaic panels, invented a fairly similar system several years ago, with Systovi R-Volt. The system relies on the fact that the air behind a solar panel is warm. It was a shame to lose this warm air. The Systovi system uses a conventional solar panel to heat the water. However, a turbine system at the rear collects the warm air and injects it into the house.

The SunAéro system, however, makes this more accessible, with a 133cm x 70cm kit that anyone can install in their home. The trickiest part is probably drilling a hole in the wall of the home to blow in the heated air. However, the SunAéro kit is then easily attached to the wall using a few fasteners. This technological innovation is patented.

The manufacturer even offers two frame colors: “light” white or “harmony” black, so that the whole thing looks attractive on the wall of the house.

But there are also extensions to expand the system and produce sufficient heat depending on the areas to be heated. Two or three panels can be combined with the main kit.

The system is also equipped with a certain intelligence. The control panel is equipped with temperature and humidity sensors to regulate the humidity level appropriate for the room. The thermostat allows you to control the desired setpoint temperature to adjust the ventilation (up to 200 m3/h). All this can be controlled from your smartphone :)

Not only does SunAéro heat the air, but it also dehumidifies the home, thanks to a dual-action air circulation (heat + airflow). The kit is therefore very versatile: for the homefor damp rooms: basement, garage, outdoor workshop, garden shed, etc.

Crowdfunding that's booming

This SunAéro has been the subject of a crowdfunding campaign

. The €5,000 goal was reached in a few minutes, and is already approaching €100,000 at the time of writing.

The first €750 kits sold out in a few minutes. The price then rose to €990 (and €550 for the additional panel), and now €1,190. The final retail price will normally be €1,470. A significant investment, but one that will reduce your energy bill for many years to come.
